MAKING THE BIG-BUCKS WORLD OF STOCK TRADING ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE

“Never catch a falling knife”

– Wall Street wisdom

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT

For most people, the stock market is a complete mystery. It’s a world where incomprehensible jargon rules the roost and where you need an advanced degree in maths just to understand what’s going on. But you understand that sort of stuff, right?

No, you don’t! But then again, that’s what makes the stock market so fascinating. It’s why we pay to see Hollywood movies about lunatic traders who make millions before lunchtime, then lose it all again before the end of the day.

The problem with the stock exchange is that until now you needed a stack of cash and a lot of financial know-how to play the markets. BUX is going to change all that. Let’s face it: thanks to Uber, everyone’s got their own private driver nowadays. And Instagram means anyone can feel like being a professional photographer. So why is everything still so extremely complicated when it comes to the stock market? With BUX, we want to give everyone the opportunity to discover the magic of the stock exchange, even if right now, you’re totally clueless about the markets.

MAKING THE BIG-BUCKS WORLD OF STOCK TRADING ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE

How? And what with? For now we’re keeping that to ourselves. But if you sign up for our beta test, you can be one of the first to try out the fruits of our labour ... Go on! You know you want to!

OUR TEAM

Bux is an initiative from the minds of Nick Bortot, ex-BinckBank; Robbert Bos, ex-Spil Games; Egbert Pronk, ex-VDM and Joost van de Wijgerd, ex-eBuddy.

Nick Bortot
Nick Bortot
CEO
The man with the plan. Nick was one of the driving forces behind the success of BinckBank, but with BUX, he’s gladly swapped the luxury of the boardroom for hands-on entrepreneurship.
Sania Khanjani
Sania Khanjani
Office Manager
Part time BUX-er and law student, which is always handy when it comes to support for drafting contracts and terms and conditions. Sania also takes care of HR and administration for us.
Stanislav Sopov
Stanislav Sopov
Frontend Webdeveloper
Born in Russia, raised in Amsterdam, ‘Stan’ works as hard at BUX as he does with the weights at the gym. The guy’s an avid bodybuilder, so watch yourself.

Bogdan Dumitrescu
Bogdan Dumitrescu
Backend Software Developer
Born and raised in Romania. Is as passionate about code as he is about racing. Besides a circuit-ready car, he owns a full-blown race simulator in his man cave.
Egbert Pronk
Egbert Pronk
CFO
Our stock market and financial guru. Makes us work on broken office chairs and second hand desks, because: “money is a limited resource and needs to be spend wisely.”
Stevan Zmiric
Stevan Zmiric
Brand Editor
When he’s not busy grooming his beard, he writes snappy, hilarious content for BUX to help our users discover how the stock market really works.

Ramon Gervais
Ramon Gervais
Product Designer
One of the few people who can explain the difference between UX and UI. Learned his trade at Dutch tech giants like Marktplaats and Hyves ... but BUX is going to look much prettier!
Evgeny Shurakov
Evgeny Shurakov
Mobile Developer
The silent force in the development team, Evgeny comes from Yekterinburg in the heart of Russia. “The most developed developer”, according to his colleagues.

Joost van de Wijgerd
Joost van de Wijgerd
CTO
Responsible for our technology. His background is in fast-growing high-tech startups (like eBuddy), so Joost knows exactly what ‘scalable’ means.
Robbert Bos
Robbert Bos
CPO
In a previous life, Robbert was responsible for everything mobile at Spil Games. With his knowledge of ‘gamification’, it’s only logical that he’s ultimately responsible for our product.
Rob de Boer
Rob de Boer
Backend Software Developer
Rob has developed software for a number of organisations, from small businesses to government bodies, so nothing fazes him. He brings stability to the development team.
Niels Vrijhoeven
Niels Vrijhoeven
Brand Editor in Chief
Responsible for all brand- and marketing communications originating from the right half of the brain, Niels has conceived a stubborn plan to market BUX as journalism.
Yorick Naeff
Yorick Naeff
Head of Customer Operations
At BUX, we realise that our users will soon be our most important asset, so ‘Customer Centricity’ is our middle name: and that’s Yorick’s responsibility.
Tim Vogel
Tim Vogel
Performance Marketeer
Previously worked in user-acquisition at Spil Games. If you know what LTV > CPI means, feel free to contact Tim. If not, don’t bother.
Ian Guedes Maia
Ian Guedes Maia
Mobile Developer
Ian’s really quite pragmatic and rational... for a Brazilian! And he’s mastered Android equally as well as iOS – just like the rest of the mobile guys, which is pretty remarkable.
Angelo Suzuki
Angelo Suzuki
Mobile Developer
Unique: a Brazilian with an Italian first name and a Japanese surname. Every day Angelo surprises us with his choice of t-shirt. But don’t be fooled, he’s incredibly focussed.
Michel Gerritsen
Michel Gerritsen
UI Designer Intern
Our extremely intelligent design intern. How do we know that he is so intelligent? Well, because he decided to take up an internship at BUX, obviously.

COME WORK WITH US

We’re always on the lookout for the best people. We can’t offer you a company car, a comprehensive pension plan or a discount fitness club membership. But what we will give you is a start-up attitude in an informal, small, but massively talented team based on Amsterdam’s beautiful Keizersgracht. Beat that Google!
